Der Werkstoff 1.4307 / X2CrNi 18 9 ist ein nichtrostender austenitischer Stahl. Durch den niedrigen Kohlenstoffgehalt ersetzt der 1.4307 fast alle Titan-stabilisierten Güten vom Typ 1.4511. Diese Güte zeichnet sich durch eine gute Beständigkeit gegen interkristalline Korrosion aus. Des Weiteren besitzt der 1.4307 eine gute Verarbeitbarkeit. Dieser Stahl kann sowohl mechanisch als auch elektrolytisch poliert werden und ist zerspanbar.
